Who we are
FragHunt is a gaming community website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can manage it.
We never sell your personal data to anyone. Period.
What data we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect:
- Username and display name — to identify you on the site
- Email address — for login, password resets, and optional notifications
- Password — stored as a PBKDF2-SHA256 hash (we never see or store your actual password)
Profile information (optional)
You may choose to add: bio, location, avatar, banner image, forum signature, social links (Discord, Steam, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch). All of this is optional and publicly visible on your profile.
Linked accounts
If you link your Steam account, we store your Steam ID and public profile name. We use this for login convenience and to display your Steam profile on your member page. We access only public Steam data — we do not read your friends list, game library, or private profile information.
Future integrations (Discord, etc.) will follow the same principle: minimum necessary data, public information only.
Content you create
Forum posts, chat messages, shoutbox messages, profile comments, and reactions are stored to provide the community features. You can delete your own content where the interface allows it.
Automatically collected data
- IP address — used for security (brute-force protection, ban enforcement, DNSBL checks). Logged with security events.
- Cookies — see our Cookie Policy for details
- Analytics — if enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand site usage (pages visited, session duration). Google Analytics uses cookies — see our Cookie Policy. You can opt out via the cookie consent banner.
Why we collect it
- Account + profile — to run the community (forums, chat, profiles, shop)
- Security data — to protect the site and its members from abuse
- Analytics — to understand how the site is used so we can improve it
We process data under GDPR Article 6(1)(b) (contract — providing the service you signed up for) and Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest — security and analytics).
Who sees your data
- Other members — your public profile, posts, and activity are visible to other users
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage data if you accept analytics cookies
- Cloudflare R2 — uploaded images (avatars, banners, signatures) are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure
- Steam Web API — if you link Steam, your Steam ID is sent to Valve to fetch your public profile
We do not share, sell, or rent your personal data to any other third parties.
How long we keep it
- Account data — as long as your account exists
- Security logs — retained for up to 90 days
- Forum/chat content — as long as the content exists on the site
When you delete your account, your personal data is removed. Forum posts may be anonymized (author shown as "Deleted User") rather than deleted to preserve thread integrity.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you're in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data (you can do most of this yourself via your profile)
- Erasure — request deletion of your account and data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw consent — for analytics cookies, at any time via the cookie settings
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@fraghunt.eu.
Children
FragHunt is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
